"As a retired engineer, I found both the energy audit performed by Shaping Energies, LLC and the energy conservation work the firm did fascinating to watch. Competence and commitment were clearly evident. It was also obvious that technology for improving the efficiency of old houses(ours is 113 years old) has advanced remarkably in recent years.
The energy conservation work done on the house was competent, meticulous and careful, and required very little attention or effort from us. Cleanup was exemplary. Some areas were cleaner after the work than they had been before.
The work was performed late in the heating season, so I have no experience yet with heating efficiency in winter weather. However, experience in chilly spring weather suggests that the improvements will be better than I expected. In addition, the cellar requires much less dehumidification in hot humid weather than it did. "

Shaping Energies did a wonderful job for us. I can't believe how much warmer the house is. It used to take 6 cords of wood and a lot of propane to keep the house at 60-62 degrees - expensive and not very comfortable! Now we are using 20% less propane, 4 cords of wood and the house is a toasty 68 degrees!
The guys who did the work were very friendly, hard-working and knowledgeable. They definitely went the extra mile to make our house warm and comfortable.

We requested an energy efficiency audit through Efficiency Vermont and were put in contact with Shaping Energies, LLC. The tests on our 1870's home were completed as schedulded. A report of the findings along with suggested improvements was received within 48 hours of the initial visit. A quote of the costs for the improvements was presented to us. The quote showed potential energy and economic savings. We signed a contract with Shaping Energies to have the agreed upon work performed. The work was done as scheduled efficiently and with little disruption to our daily routine. The final tests showed an air sealing reduction of 36.3%. We look forward to the savings.
